Poetry Forthcoming in Firewords

My poem, “Hibernation,” has been accepted for publication in Firewords Quarterly. Firewords is a gorgeously illustrated, full color literary journal based in the UK. The print edition is available for purchase online as well as in many bookshops around the world, including Rough Trade in the UK and McNally’s in NYC.

I’m especially pleased Firewords chose this particular poem, as it is one of my oldest and most cherished works. Written 20 years ago when I was a teenager obsessed with Robert Frost, “Hibernation” came fully formed to my mind one winter’s day while watching the falling snow through my bedroom window. The poem has been praised by many editors over the decades, but its pastoral nature made it difficult to place. I couldn’t ask for a more beautiful or worthy home for it than Firewords.
